sun-dried tomatoes

Posted in Food & Recipes by nicolejanaye on September 28, 2010

Things are always much cheaper when you decide to make them on your own instead of buying them at the grocery store. Not only are they cheaper, but you can control the ingredients and make sure you know what they all are.

Most people, I assume, buy packaged items because it’s easy and they don’t have to worry about the fuss of making them. It might be easier but you can create the same product, healthier and cheaper, just as great at home.

It’s simply a bundle of Roma tomatoes dehydrated overnight and tossed with some other ingredients. Yes, my italian seasonings make a play back in this recipe. It’s best to seal the jar and leave it in a cabinet for a month or so to let all the flavors meld.

These tomatoes can be used on sandwiches, in salads, on crackers or simply right out of the jar. Enjoy!
