The big game this Sunday!

Posted in Uncategorized by nicolejanaye on July 7, 2010

ay yayaya!  How did I not bring my camera for an event this big??!

This sunday I will make sure to have my beer and tortilla in one hand and my camera in the other! Ah tonight was so much fun. True Spain. I went to a bar with Ane & Marco (Javier’s sister and brother-in-law). There were about 30 of their closest friends there (all that I met! ) The owner closed down the bar especially for us.

There was tons of tortilla, kisses, beer, potato chips, and yelling to go around. To be honest, I don’t think anyone celebrates better than the spanish.

After the glorious game we headed out to the streets. As if our bar wasn’t wild enough, the streets topped it. Horns blaring, flags waving, girls flashing (oh..i mean), red and yellow everywhere!

People asked me if we celebrated in the US like this. Maybe in the large cities are we somewhat close but nothing compared to this.

Sunday will be a wild, crazy, nervous match! If we lose, the city will be quiet. If we win, the city will not shut down for a couple of days. Spain has never made it this far so it’s a big deal for everyone here.

Stay posted for sunday’s pictures. Hopefully everyone is full of smiles!
