VIA

Posted in Food & Recipes by nicolejanaye on January 17, 2010

Starbucks’s new BIG thing is VIA.

Via:

  • is a micro-ground arabica coffee
  • is ready in an instant!
  • tastes just as good as any cup of freshly brewed Starbucks coffee
  • can be used with hot or cold, milk or water.
  • can be used with baking.
  • is available NATIONWIDE.
  • is avaiable in Medium Roast, Bold Roast, Decaf Bold Roast
  • is nice at home, work, on the go, and even camping.

When my store first got Via we tried using it in as many ways as possible. We created lattes, coffees, milk shakes, brownies, banana bread, and other forms of drinks and desserts. Here is a vegan recipe containing via.

Black Bean, Coffee Machine Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 can of black beans, drained & rinsed
  • 2 bananas
  • 1/3 cup of agave nectar
  • 1/2 cup of raw cacao or unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 TBS cinnamon
  • 1 packet of Via
  • 1/2 cup of instant oats (Add 1/4 cup more if you want them less fudgy)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Grease” a 8×8″ pan and set aside.
  3. Combine all ingredients, except oats, in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.
  4. Stir in the oats and pour batter into the pan.
  5. Bake 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

My favorite way to have VIA on the go:

  • 1 water bottle
  • Vanilla Almond Milk
  • 1 Italian VIA packet
  1. Drink a couple inches of water out.
  2. Pour the almond milk and VIA in.
  3. Shake
  4. Drink!
